TITLE: Project Accounting Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Business Development

JOB SUMMARY:

Support the Project Management Office and Project Accounting Team by performing a variety of accounting tasks including A/P, A/R and collections. Primary responsibilities include:
•Process purchase invoices for approximately 300 projects.
•First touch on collections via e-mail and phone.
•Escalating issues to the appropriate Project Accountant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Process vendor invoices against the PO
•Ensure all vendor documentation, including invoices are scanned in and maintained in soft and hard copies
•Filing packets for all projects
•Track Vendor invoices on a spreadsheet; including invoice received date, processing date
•Follow up on invoicing issues – Issues with orders and/or invoices
•Prepare analysis of accounts, as required
•Assist with audits and special projects as necessary
•Contact Customer end users, contracting officers, and accounts payable departments to verify payment status of invoices.
•Build and maintain effective internal relationships with Sales, Order Management, and other personnel.
•Assist in proposal production efforts on an as-needed basis
•Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

•High School Diploma. Some college work preferred
•Customer service or related experience

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

•Excellent verbal, written communication, problem solving, and decision making skills
•Excellent organizational skills
•Government Contracts experience preferred
•Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications including Excel
•Ability to operate computer and related equipment and general office equipment
•Strong customer service skills. Ability to interact in a positive manner with internal and external contacts.
•Ability to complete multiple tasks within critical deadlines
•Ability to work independently
•Ability to remain sitting for long periods of time
•Ability to understand verbal/written instructions
•Basic math skills

Principle Responsibilities
