[Full-time] Accounting Internship Opportunity at Company

Small Government Contractor in Manassas, VA is seeking an outgoing and self motivated individual in need of work experience while going to school. This 3 month non-paid internship will focus on supporting a small corporate office in the areas of accounting and administration. Strong organizational skills and etiquette is a must along with basic computer knowledge. Desired intern must be detailed-oriented and have a professional demeanor.

The internship will require 8-16 hours per week. The exact schedule will be coordinated with the elected individual.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

-Accounts Payable
-Accounts Receivable
-Assist in monthly financial closings
-Assist in reconciling and researching vendor accounts as needed
-Create and modify documents using Microsoft Office
-Perform general clerical duties such as photocopying, faxing, mailing, scanning, shredding, and filing
-Order office supplies and schedule equipment maintenance as requested
-Support staff in assigned project based work
-Flexibility to perform other duties as assigned

Skills/Requirements:
-Individual must be enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree program related to business and/or accounting
-Work well in groups and independently
-Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
-Good working knowledge in Excel is a MUST.
-Detail oriented
-Punctuality and Professionalism is key
-Ability to Multitask
-Must be friendly and personable
-Have minimum 3.0 GPA
