A well-known international non-profit is currently seeking an individual with a strong contract negotiations, communications and finance background to join the team as a Contract Administrator. The Contract Administrator represents the organization in contract communications and negotiations with individual consultants from the U.S. and overseas. The Contract Administrator is responsible for assisting with drafting of consultant contracts, negotiations and project fulfillment, processing reports, refining and maintaining a contract database, and reconciling payments.
PRIMARY DUTUES:
• Represent the organization in contractual negotiations and communications with individual and organizational contractors.
• Analyze contract information and potential assignments for identification of risk and potential conflict.
• Oversee the organization of all technical data, statement of work, delivery schedule, milestone payments, terms and conditions, and other contractual elements.
• In coordination with staff counsel, assure that contracts clearly define the scope of work to be performed and are in compliance with the applicable U.S. or foreign laws/regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Negotiate contracts with consultants/customers. Assure the organization’s proprietary rights in data are protected.
• Monitor contract performance for constructive changes. Initiate necessary actions to expedite execution of contracts, reporting and payment.
• Process reports from contractors, file and coordinate review of the reports with the designated staff for payment.
• Maintain a database of all active and closed contracts.
• Reconcile consultant payments and invoicing.
• Administer contract closure.
Required Skills:
• B.A. required
• 3+ year’s substantive experience in contract administration.
• Superior problem-solving and communication skills.
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field.
• Knowledge of pricing and accounting principles.
• Demonstrated ability to make positive, rational decisions, and proven capability to develop new and creative approaches in negotiating and managing contracts.
• Respect for deadlines and adherence to project plans.
• Proficiency in Excel, accounting software packages, Word.
