Technical Consultant

Are you ready for a challenging role with the responsibility to consult with highly technical leaders, including Sr. DBA’s, data warehouse architects and database developers? If so, we have a great full-time opportunity as a Technical Services Consultant to join a leader in data management and data analysis.
As a Technical Services Consultant you will oversee the deployment of their databases for customers, covering all technical aspects of deployment (installation, configuration, migration, DBA, development tasks); drive toward production and reference-able customer deployments. As a consultant this will involve working toward deadlines, and defined project scope; handle out-of-scope requests accordingly; proactively communicate status and escalate issues as needed. Additionally you will work with Presales and Field Engineers to understand customer use cases and design solutions based on the their data warehouse and ecosystem tools (BI, ETL, etc.)
Job Requirements
• MS in Computer Science or BS plus equivalent experience
• 3+ years of database/data warehouse experience as a Consultant, Architect, DBA, database engineer, or data modeling role.
• 3+ years of programming experience, including C/C++ and Java plus either Python or PERL
• 3+ years of experience working with Linux
• Major consultancy firm background a plus
• Hadoop and/or MapReduce experience a plus
• Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills – able to present to technical thought leaders, including senior DBAs, data warehouse architects and database developers
• Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
• Must be willing to travel 20-25% (no visa restrictions)
