Desktop Support Specialist

Global Travel Internatioanl has an immediate opening for a Desktop Support Specialist who will be responsible for providing first level support in the areas of desktop hardware and software for a seventy-five workstation network. The DSS works closely with GTI’s internal and external customers to ensure top notch support and customer service. The DSS is the point of contact for desktop application vendors. The DSS is a proactive, detail-oriented member of the I.T. Department and strives for 100% up time.
1. Installation, configuration, adds, moves, changes and trouble shooting of corporate desktop hardware and software.
2. Creates and maintains corporate software licenses.
3. Manage the storage of IT related equipment.
4. Administer and support network users and email.
5. Manage the vendor software issues and manage new vendor software rollout.
6. Document vendor relationships.
7. Daily backups, which include checking for completion, accuracy, tape logging and tape rotation.
8. Assists in defined corporate projects.
9. Posses the necessary skills to backup to the infrastructure manager.
10. Generally responsible for the Help Desk Ticket system within the company
11. All other duties as required and assigned by the supervisor.
Skills:
2-3 Years in IT Discipline.
Knowledge of PC operating systems, PC hardware, printers, modems, TCP/IP and MS Office Products is required. Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to document processes, self-motivated, independent, ability to follow directions and complete tasks without the need to be reminded, and the skills to function well as part of a team are required.
Assist in administrating the network including server, printer, switches, and routers.
Must be detail oriented
Must be extremely organized
Must maintain a sense of flexible in an ever changing environment
