Paralegal/Legal Assistant
at Company in Encino, CA
Busy bankruptcy law firm seeking paralegal/legal assistant to help with exploding client volume. Must be able to start immediately. Must have substantial experience with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy filings in the Central District of California (experience in filings with other districts helpful but not required). The following is a non-exclusive list of responsibilities this position will require:
1) Prepare emergency and complete Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions and associated schedules;
2) Prepare Chapter 13 plans and assemble documents and information necessary to get plans confirmed;
3) Assemble and prepare post-filing documents required to be filed with the bankruptcy court and/or forwarded to the US trustee (Declarations Re Deed of Trust Payments, etc.)
4) Prepare Lam motions and other court memoranda affecting encumbered property;
5) Prepare oppositions to various creditor motions (relief from stay, objection to confirmation, etc.)
6) Prepare adversary proceedings and complaints;
7) Prepare various motions under normal notice timelines, orders shortening time and ex parte basis.
