Office Manager
at Hedge Fund in New York City, NY
Startup hedge fund looking for office manager to report to Director of Finance and Operations. We are an equities L/S fund with 3 employees (2 investment professionals and a finance/operations director), with plans to grow to 5-6 over the next few months. Will require self-starter with office management experience who can do everything from the mundane to make decisions for the company (like choose and negotiate with vendors, health plans, etc). Duties will include office management, assisting in controller/fund accounting duties, and assisting with client relations. Interested in candidates who want a longterm career opportunity in office management only.
Applicants MUST have:
- 3+ years of hedge fund office management experience, preferably in roles that are not narrowly defined
- undergraduate degree with above 3.2 gpa
- strong ability to multi-task and stay organized for detailed work
- a talent for making sure an office runs smoothly
- a desire to conceive of and implement processes
Successful applicants WILL have experience in roles such as:
- office manager functions (new hire/fire paperwork, maintaining employee files, managing office vendors, payroll, benefits)
- client relations functions (updates to marketing materials and investor letters, responding to due diligence reports, maintaining client database, managing subscriptions/redemptions process)
- assistant controller functions (ex: trade reconciliations, allocations, interacting with counterparties, management company bookkeeping, year-end tax work, set up broker accounts, soft dollar arrangements)
- performing sec compliance duties (ex: sec filings, form adv, security restrictions, comply with new regulations, sec examinations process)
