Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager position is a developmental position at Red Roof Inns, Inc. The major focus for this position is to train and develop an Assistant General Manager to become a General Manager. We will provide a structured training and development program which typically lasts 18-22 months. Upon completion of the training program, the Assistant General Manager will be promoted to become a General Manager of a Red Roof location. This promotion may require some degree of relocation, however this is discussed and honored in any request when possible.

Position Responsibilities

*Responsible for leading each employee in providing high quality customer service *Daily exceed the expectations of guests and clients *Functions as one of the entrepreneurial leaders of the hotel *Uses discretion over the decision making for the entire operation, in conjunction with the General Manager *Responsible for the five major departments of the hotel property, including the Front Desk, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Laundry and Sales *Use business savvy to operate these departments as each sees fit *Manage the P&L and budgets *Responsible for recruiting, hiring, coaching, and terminating employees *Develop/implement employee schedules *Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience, preferably in hotel, restaurant or retail management required *Profit and loss and budgeting experience strongly preferred *Sales background and rate/yield management experiences are preferred *Must have an attitude and drive for success *Excellent verbal and written communication skills required *Proficiency in MS Office Suite and PMS systems strongly preferred *Must have exceptional customer service skills
